Projection Mapping and Drones

I have focused my major-specific courses at Texas on classes covering live event technologies, specifically those teaching projection mapping. I have worked on 2D and 3D projection projects, technical drafting for projection plots, and my most recent large scale projection project for which I got the opportunity to work on the design and programming of an accompanying drone show!
AET Student Showcase
Project type: Large scale projection mapping
Software: GreenHippo, Verge Aero Drone Programmer, Adobe After Effects
My biggest projection mapping project was for the 2024 Department of Arts and Entertainment Technologies Student Showcase. I was part of the student team that designed, created, edited, and mapped projection content onto the south face of the Doty Fine Arts building on campus. We also collaborated with the drone company Verge Aero to design and program an accompanying drone show for the projection mapping. I was very excited to get the opportunity to learn how to program the drones and use the visualization software, and on the day of the show, set up the drones, change their batteries between the two shows, and pack them up afterwards.
A video of the full show - skip to 0:31 for the beginning of the projection and accompanying music.

The storyboard I created for the separate teams (images, textures, texts) to stay coordinated.
The school's video of the event shows my team setting up the drones and the drones taking off before the show (0:50).
Tiny House Projection
Project type: Small scale projection mapping
Software: GreenHippo, Shape, Adobe After Effects
This projection design was for a class project to create and map content onto this house model, which was about 2 feet tall, based on the four seasons. It was one of my first projects mapping projection content onto a 3D object. Since I'm a violinist, the first thing I thought of was Vivaldi's The Four Seasons concerto, and I set each season to 10 seconds of the corresponding movement of music.
Eurydice Accompanying Projection Design
Project type: Small scale projection mapping
Software: QLab, Adobe After Effects, p5.js
This projection was designed for certain parts of the play Eurydice, written by Sarah Paul, and mapped onto.a miniature version of Bass Concert Hall on UT's Campus. I created content for 3 separate scenes, mapping content onto the backdrop with a back projector, and two additional surfaces downstage using a front projector.
